Why attend the
Canton Fair?

We’re with you at Canton Fair—source diverse suppliers, talk face-to-face, cut costs. Your trusted sourcing partner!

As a trusted foreign trade sourcing company, we’ve witnessed firsthand how the Canton Fair—with its decades of reputation and global influence—transforms our clients’ business strategies. For overseas buyers seeking growth, this iconic event isn’t just an exhibition—it’s a proven gateway to efficiency, variety, and unparalleled opportunity. Here’s why you can’t afford to skip it.

First, the Canton Fair offers unbeatable access to diverse suppliers. Instead of spending months researching and vetting vendors online, you’ll find thousands of qualified manufacturers under one roof. Whether you need electronics, textiles, home goods, or industrial equipment, every category is represented. This means you can compare products, prices, and capabilities side by side, saving valuable time in your sourcing process.
Second, face-to-face communication solves problems fast. In international trade, miscommunication about product details or customization needs is common. At the fair, you can talk directly to factory owners and product specialists with years of industry experience. You can touch materials, check product quality, and even discuss bespoke modifications in real time. This level of interaction builds trust and reduces the risk of costly mistakes in your orders.
Third, it’s a chance to spot trends before competitors. The Canton Fair showcases the latest innovations in Chinese manufacturing—often debuted by leading manufacturers—from eco-friendly packaging and cutting-edge tech solutions to smart home devices. By attending, you’ll get a sneak peek at what will be popular in global markets and consumer preferences next year. This insight lets you update your product lines early and stay ahead in a competitive industry.
Finally, it cuts costs and boosts profits. Sourcing directly from manufacturers at the fair eliminates middlemen, lowering your purchase prices. Many suppliers also offer exclusive fair discounts to secure new clients. Plus, meeting multiple partners in one trip reduces travel expenses compared to visiting factories across different cities. For any buyer focused on ROI, these savings make the trip worthwhile.

PREPARATION WORKHow do I attend the Canton Fair?

Make sure you have all the details ready for the Canton Fair.
Step 1: Prepare Before You Go
First, get your travel documents ready. You need a valid passport (with at least 6 months left before expiration) and a Chinese visa. Most buyers use a “M visa” (for business). To apply, visit the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate. Bring an invitation letter if possible—many Canton Fair suppliers can provide this to help your visa application.
Next, register for the Canton Fair online. Go to the official website (www.cantonfair.org.cn) and fill out the buyer registration form. You’ll need to upload a copy of your passport and visa. After approval, you’ll get an electronic badge. Print it out or save it on your phone—you’ll need it to enter the fairground.
Also, plan your trip details. Book your flight to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) early, especially during peak seasons. Choose a hotel near the Canton Fair Complex (in Pazhou District) to save time. Popular options include hotels like the Canton Fair Hotel or Novotel Guangzhou Pazhou. Don’t forget to download translation apps (like WeChat Translate or Google Translate) and a map app (like Baidu Maps) to help you communicate and get around.
Step 2: Attend the Fair Successfully
On the day of your visit, arrive early (the fair opens at 9:00 AM) to avoid long lines. Show your electronic badge and passport at the entrance to get a physical visitor card (free for registered buyers).
The Canton Fair Complex is huge, with 3 main exhibition areas (Area A, B, C) and hundreds of booths. Before you go, check the official fair catalog online to list the suppliers or products you want to see. This will save you time—you don’t want to walk aimlessly!
When talking to suppliers, be clear about your needs: product details, order quantity, price, and delivery time. Bring a notebook or tablet to take notes and exchange contact information (WeChat is widely used in China, so download it if you can). If you want to see product samples, ask the supplier—many have samples on site.
Finally, take care of yourself. The fair is large, so wear comfortable shoes. Bring a water bottle and snacks (there are food areas, but they can be busy). After the fair, you can explore Guangzhou—try local food like dim sum or visit the Canton Tower to relax.
Attending the Canton Fair is a great opportunity for your business. With good preparation, you’ll have a successful and enjoyable trip!
